IKA Race Management Seminar

We are proud to announce the first ever IKA Race Management Seminar, organized in cooperation with the Belgium Association. The seminar is held in Ghent, Belgium, from 26.02.-28.02.2010.

The seminar will cover all aspects of general regatta organization and management, focus on kite racing but also cover the administrative tasks in expression and speed disciplines, and come to an end with an official race management exam.

ISAF council approves all submissions from the IKA

The International Sailing Federations Council meeting has approved all submissions made by IKA on their meeting last week in Busan, Korea.

Submissions included renaming of the "Windsurfing Committee" to "Windsurfing and Kiteboarding Committee", clarifications about requirements for international and recognized class status, requirements for world championships, and changes to the advertising code. New Records tumble as Luderitz Speed Challenge commences

After two weeks of relatively light winds, the well known Luderitz wind machine is working again and produced a new kitespeed world record yesterday. Alex Caizergues set the bar to 50.98 knots, followed by Rob Douglas at 50.95. That is a difference of approximately 20 cm over the 500m distance.
