The International Kiteboarding Association (IKA) and the Professional Kiteboard Riders Association (PKRA) have announced today to enter a cooperation with immediate effect. The first sanctioned PKRA event under this new cooperation will be the PKRA KiteMasters Portimao in Portugal.
The Expansion Commission and the Olympic Commission have been constituted as first IKA working parties. Now it is up to some specialists comittees to start working on the development of kiteboarding.
While the Expansion Commission is intended to help new national class associations to be founded and to make a proper start into the organization of their national issues, the Olympic Commissions task is to develop a strategy and format for the olympic games, that represents kiteboarding as an inidvidual sport.
The Grand Prix Petit Navire has kept all its promises for the staging of the first official European Course Racing Championships, even when there was no more racing on the final day of the competition due to lack of wind.
