Information for Riders competing in KPWT events PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 09 February 2010 08:38

Riders that take part in any KPWT events, or events under the supervision of the “IKF”, will be refused entry for all future IKA sanctioned events, for a period of one year, starting with the last day of such event.

IKA sanctioned events include all world and continental championships events in Course Racing and Speed, all events of the PKRA World Tour leading to the world titles in Freestyle and Wave, the Kiteboard Tour Asia, the Kiteboard Tour Europe, and any national events and championships counting for the IKA world rankings.

This action is based on Racing Rules of Sailing #76.

76 EXCLUSION OF BOATS OR COMPETITORS

76.1 The organizing authority or the race committee may reject or cancel the entry of a boat or exclude a competitor, subject to rule 76.2, provided it does so before the start of the first race and states the reason for doing so. However, the  organizing authority or the race committee shall not reject or cancel the entry of a boat or exclude a competitor because of advertising, provided the boat or competitor complies with ISAF Regulation 20, Advertising Code.

76.2 At world and continental championships no entry within stated quotas shall be rejected or cancelled without first  obtaining the approval of the relevant international class association (or the Offshore Racing Council) or the ISAF.

The International Kiteboarding Association is the Organising Authority for all IKA sanctioned events and thus entitled to refuse entry under this rule to any events that we consider to be prohibited under ISAF regulation 19.

In case of continued participation in prohibited events as defined in ISAF regulation 19, IKA will request the ISAF Executive Committee to impose regulation 19 on that particular rider, which may result in suspension of ISAF eligibility with immediate effect, permanently, or for a specific period of time (at least three years).

For clarification about events considered to be prohibited under ISAF regulation 19, we will list those events on a separate page in the events section.

Riders which will be refused entry to IKA sanctioned events will be listed also in the events section, with the date of the first possibility of re-instatement.
