Melbourne Important Event Information

Written by Editor on . Posted in News

Here is some important information regarding the upcoming Sailing World Cup in Melbourne.

The launch site will be just 100 meters of Sandringham Yacht Club on the beach next to the club, and the course area will be right in front of the club with the spectator area.

Riders are required by Australian law to wear personal floatation devices any time when afloat, so bring a PFD or impact vest with some buoyancy. This will be put into the Sailing Instructions and may impose penalties if not followed.

The event format will be an opening series run on windward/leeward courses, and a medal race series conducted in heats, on a short track course with reaching starts for the top 10 competitors in each fleet.
