Bruno Sroka and Kristin Boese lead Course Racing in Sylt

Written by Editor on . Posted in News

Course Racing at SyltBruno Sroka (FRA, Cabrinha) and Kristin Boese (GER, Best) are in the lead after three course races at the KPWT stop in Sylt, Germany.

After a windless morning, the wind picked up around noon and allowed some thrilling racing directly in front of the many spectators at the promenade of Westerland Beach.

The race committee had set a pure up and downwind course in the unusual south wind, with the windward and leeward mark set very close to the beach so that the spectators were able to follow the racing only a few meters away from the shore. Also the finish was set directly at the beach, whic allowed for spectacular finishing directly in fornt of the event area.

In the mens fleet, it was very close racing between Abel Lago (ESP, RRD), winning the first race of the day, and Bruno Sroka, who won the next two races. Sean Farley (MEX, North) in third. In the womens fleet, Kristin Boese was able to win all three races sailed back to back, before the wind changed to offshore and died down.

The forecast for tomorrow is promising, with a skippersmeeting at 0900. Stay tuned !
