Sroka and Bridge win Course Racing in Portimao with a perfect score

Written by Editor on . Posted in News

Bruno Sroka (FRA, Cabrinha) and Steph Bridge (GBR, North) are the ones to beat this year. After 11 course races in changing conditions, both finished the competition with a perfect score.

Bridge did not even loose one race in this week at Alvor Beach, while Sroka was passes only two times.

Places 2-5 in the mens competition were hardly fought about, with only a few points between the top racers of the world. In the end, Charles Deleau (FRA, North) and Renaud Madier (FRA, Eclipse) were constantly climbing up in the lighter wind conditions, while Sean Farley (MEX, North) and Abel Lago (ESP, RRD) could not keep up with the pace.

In the womens competition, Steph Bridge was all time domination, scoring constant 6-7 place finishes in the mens division ! Behind her a big gap to European Champion Fabienne D'Ortoli (FRA, Naish) and Brasilian shooting star Nayara Licariao (BRA, Best).

The next racing event will go on next week already at the KPWT in Tarifa. With more wind expected, it will be interesting to see how the rankings will end up then.
