PKRA Essaouira Day 1

Written by Editor on . Posted in News

It was a beautiful, hot and sunny day in Essaouira, Morocco. Hundreds of vacationers and locals were out and about enjoying the Moroccan climate.
The wind forecast predicated that the wind would be non-existent today, however organizers managed to gather a large number of competitors as well as some members of the PKRA crew to partake in a fun afternoon of golf.

An over anxious Kevin Langeree (Naish, NED) has obviously been training super hard for this competition. He swung his golf club with excessive force, breaking the club in two. French rider Forrest Bakker (Flexifoil, FRA) also managed to swing and break a club in two pieces. These boys are desperately in need of some wind to take their frustrations out on the water, and not on golf clubs. The next thing you know they will be swinging clubs at each other.

A large group of Brazilian wave riders such as the amazing world-class rider Guilly Brandao (Mormaii, BRA) made their way out on the water today to take advantage of some small surf.

The wind forecast for tomorrow looks very promising.

The mandatory riders’ meeting is scheduled for 10:00am tomorrow morning with a first possible start at 10:30am.

Race director, Olaf Van Tol will set the stage for a spectacular freestyle show.
