Focus on... Age Categories

Written by Editor on . Posted in News

The recently published championship rules 2011 now contain provisions for official age categories. The main categories are:

Youth: under age 18 in the year of the competition

Senior: open to competitors of all ages

Master: over age 35 in the year of the competition

Two additional age categories are added for individual disciplines, being

Junior: under age 14 in the year of the competition (only for the freestyle discipline)

Grand Master: over age 45 in the year of the competition (for all disciplines except freestyle)

It is intended to hold separate championship events for youth and junior riders in the freestyle discipline as well as separate championship events for youth and masters in the course racing discipline. The dates are to be published beginning of January 2011.

All racing and speed events are encouraged to have separate rankings for all age divisions. 5 competitors are needed to constitute a division.

    1. Youth: under 18 years of age in the year of the competition
    2. Senior: open to competitors of all ages
    3. Master: between 35 and 44 years of age in the year of the competition
