Greg Thijsse and Petra Goeschl win the Langeban Downwind Dash

Written by Editor on . Posted in News

Langebaan Downwind Dash saw a record entry of more than 200 kiteboarders, fighting for points towards the IKA downwind racing rankings. The first IKA event of the season came to an ende with local Greg Thijsse from South Africa and Petra Goeschl from Germany finally on the top.

The announcement of the final results of the event needed to be postponed, as a big group of racers was considered over early and all available video and foto footage had to be checked to verify the final results.

World record holder Alexandre Caizergues took second, and 50 knots man Seb Cattelan, both from France, in third. In the womens fleet, local Sjoukje Bredenkamp was abel to defend her second place against Helen Thompson from Great Britain.
