World Ranking Point Calculation 2010 Formula for points towards the world cup ranking X = F x 100 x (N+1-Rank)/N Explanation: X = Ranking scored by a competitor at a regatta N = number of competitors F = Basefactor + pricemoney/100000: Basefactors for disciplines from 2010 onwards Pricemoney Base Factor Stars International open events (or depending on pm) 1 Tour events with less than 5000 2 5000-9999 3 10000-14999 4 15000-20999 5 21000-26999 6 27000-34999 7 35000-42499 8 42500-49999 9 More than 50000 10 Note: On wave events, the standard wave high shall be defined as 1-2.5m, for less than 1 m waves deduct 1 factor, for waves of more than 2.5m add 1 factor Note: On one-off championships, add factor 1 for continentals and factor 2 for worlds Any country has the right to apply for an “international open” event (usually the national championship or national tour final). The IKA administration (if not the AGM) will decide which event(s) will be accepted as Class Championships; and sanction events graded. ‘An International Event is an event open to entries other than those from the national authority of the venue.’ ISAF Regulations. Discipline and Overall Ranking from 2010 onwards The points which each competitor has scored within the last 12 months will be added separately for each sub-discipline. The actual ranking position will be based on the sum of ranking points. The competitor with most points is the first. The ranking list is a continuous system. After 12 months the points are deleted. After the last competition of a year the points collected before 1st of January of the corresponding year will be deleted and only points of the ongoing season will be valuable for the end of the season ranking and to detect tour winners and world champions.
IKA World Ranking Discard System - 2010 Each competitors world cup ranking score shall be the total of his results in each discipline with the number of his worst scores excluded as follows: Each discipline is scored and discarded separately.
If a competitor has two or more equal worst scores, the score(s) for the event(s) sailed earliest in the series shall be excluded. The competitor with the lowest series score shall be first and others shall be ranked accordingly.
IKA World Ranking Discipline System - 2010 Major Disciplines (these disciplines have a world ranking, continental and world championships) - Freestyle (world champion decided through the PKRA World Tour 2010) - Wave (world champion decided by: to be announced) - Course Racing (world champion decided in a one-off event) - Speed (world champion decided in a one-off event) Side Disciplines (these disciplines do not have world rankings nor continental and world champions. They are intended to add extra value to an event and “give the crowd a show”. Also new disciplines can be tested here before they become major disciplines). The following list shows only examples: - Kiteloop - KiteSlalom/BoarderCross/Kitecross - Speed Crossings - Big Air - Match Racing - Kickers/Sliders etc. |
